Flags for January 14th
Hello, Everyone,
We were hoping for some wind, but no luck -- it has been flat calm all day. Here's the best photo we could get of today's flags. Keeping in mind what today is, can you decode the signal flags on the two near poles? If you need help, the International Code of Signals is on several web sites, including this one:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_maritime_signal_flags
This is a straight alphabetic message, so each flag corresponds to a letter. Helpful hint: the blue and yellow pennant on the nearest pole is a substitute pennant -- it means "repeat the first (top) flag in this hoist."
.
By the way, Velma -- thanks for the Christmas present! (-;
